He has barely crossed 30 and has already contributed thirty works in Gujarati literature. Ankit Trivedi, who is instrumental in altering the identity of a Gujarati poet from a solemn philosopher to a progressive thinker, was conferred this year’s Yuva Gaurav Puraskar 2011-12 on Thursday.
Gujarat Sahitya Academy, Gandhinagar and Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities department of Gujarat government organized the felicitation program. Trivedi is known for his contributions – Geet Purvak and Gazal Purvak – in the field of poetry.
He has earlier received three awards, including Sahitya Parishad Takhatsingh Parmar Paritoshik, Sayada Award and Mariz Awrad for his poetic contribution. “I am honoured at this gesture,” Trivedi said. He is the youngest achiever of this award.
Trivedi has also worked on compilations to preserve Gujarati literature that include works by Purushotam Upadhyay, Chandrakant Baxi and Avinash Vyas.
